Designed with an inclusive environment in mind, this new sport center is set to be completed in 2024.
After a fierce winter storm in 2021, Reed’s existing gym was declared a total loss after the roof collapsed. Rebuilding a new mass timber gym focused on fitness and overall wellbeing became a priority for the college. Projected to be completed in Fall of 2024, the new Reed College Sport Center will be a welcoming and inclusive facility for students, faculty, and community.
With years of service as the Mechanical contractor of choice on Reed College campus maintenance and capital projects, we were invited to a select mechanical bid list for the new Sports Center. After the competitive bid, Reed and Fortis Construction selected us for the project to ensure that the design, installation, and integration of the Plumbing, HVAC and DDC Control systems for their new sports center would be of the highest standards and with built Reed’s best interests in mind. This project is currently in-progress and is slated to be completed in late 2024. Some highlights of the project include a complete renovation of the existing 1st floor locker rooms and restrooms, while maintaining services to 2nd floor occupants. The integration of 2 new air handlers into the existing infrastructure within the two-story mechanical room. The addition of 1 new air handler to serve the new gym and entry building. And a high efficiency VRF System with integrated Hydro Box heating water to force air convention heating.
OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY - RESER STADIUM

Scheduled to be completed in 2023, Reser Stadium will be transformed into a best-in-class facility, with year-round programs for all OSU students, faculty, and staff.
Designed for the students, faculty, and staff of Oregon State University, Reser Stadium is set to accommodate almost 40,000 fans. In addition to being a state-of–the-art stadium, the new venue will include a welcome center for prospective students and alumni. As well as a medical center to support the healthcare needs of the OSU community.
Located in a busy occupied campus in an urban environment, our work on Reser Stadium is currently in progress. For this project, we are focused on the mechanical and plumbing aspects of construction - including specialty plumbing requirements and custom rain drain systems that a large-scale multi-level stadium like Reser requires. All our work at Reser Stadium is being completed in alignment with the University’s sustainability standards and policies. We’ve found opportunities for increased efficiencies throughout the build process, such as prefabrication of plumbing assemblies for the restrooms, which allowed us to place and install the finished assemblies into a safer job-site. As games and events are still taking place during the construction process, we’ve taken special measures to ensure the safety of the public and maintain an excellent Reser Stadium experience for the OSU community. PORTLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE - OPPORTUNITY CENTER

Built in Portland's Cully neighborhood, PCC's Opportunity center will serve as a community hub for workforce training and development.
Portland Community College’s 50,000 sq ft Opportunity Center will create opportunities and transform lives by offering a wide range of career preparation and workforce development opportunities. This mass timber facility features classrooms, meeting, and community rooms with a welcoming, light-filled design.
We approached this project focused on strong accessibility and sustainability goals. Our HVAC design and installation includes heating and chilled water pumps, fan powered terminal units, heat recovery AHU’s, heat recovery and heat pump chiller, split system ACU’s, Hydronic piping flushing and chemical treatment, duct, DDC controls, balancing and commissioning. Our plumbing work includes domestic water piping, insulation, and chlorination, elevator sump pump, make-up water assembly, Concrete sleeving for plumbing piping penetrations. All designed with an eye on sustainability features: including a projected operational energy use reduction 40% better than state energy code, a selection low-carbon footprint building materials, onsite renewable energy production via rooftop solar panels, and single-occupancy vehicle reduction through infrastructure options.
